I want to share one Last Knitting Horror Story I heard last week….

A knitter was working on a lovely sweater for herself. A rare treat and knit something just for her, but it was interspersed with some other knitting nd it took a bit longer than she had planned.

She finally completes her garment and tries it on only to discover she lost 2 sizes since she started knitting it!! Knowing she had enough yarn, she ripped it out and re-knitted it to her new size!!

This week for Halloween I will be telling horror stories - Knitting Horror Stories Mwahhhh~ mwahhhhh~ mwwwahhhhhh!!!!!!  

An eager advernturous knitter working on her first fair isle using bits and bobs to knit her first stranded sweater.

So young and eager she did not stop to think about what she was doing.

and then…. as she went to wash her very first fair isle sweater before blocking.. it became a BLEEDING Mess!!!

Some of the colors ran and some of the colors absorbed the extra dye… all white was gone!!!

But she was a smart knitter, she threw in a  color catcher and remove some of the color, she rinsed her sweater and blocked it and she wears it proudly, remembering the lesson she learned.

This week for Halloween I will be telling horror stories - Knitting Horror Stories Mwahhhh~ mwahhhhh~ mwwwahhhhhh!!!!!!  I‘ve told this one before but it is a good one!! 

A Knitter has decided to make a lovely cardigan for her daughter all cables and such, but she doesn’ want to buy an extra ball of yarn, she hates having left over yarn.

She knits and cables away for 2 months – she is headed out to her daughters for christmas and needs to get this done so she can wrap it and bring it along– All of sudden she sees a cable on the lower front crossed the wrong way….. OH NO!!!!

She packs it all up and runs screaming to her Local Yarn Shop!!!

The smart, friendly, cute, Yarn Shop Worker listens to this Knitters tale of woe… “Not a problem,” she says, “I can fix that. Do you have some extra yarn?”

“Well,” the Knitter replies,  ”I am half way thru my last ball and I need to do the button bands. I guess I will have to buy another ball.”

“Oh……” replies the yarn shop worker, “that color was discontinued and we sold the last ball yesterday…….”

Guess who got an Amazon Gift Card for Christmas and a Cardigan for Valentines day????

It took the Knitter in this tale 3 weeks to find one more ball of yarn and she paid over twice the price once you add in the shipping of the ball of yarn and the shipping of the sweater to her daughter.

This week for Halloween I will be telling horror stories - Knitting Horror Stories Mwahhhh~ mwahhhhh~ mwwwahhhhhh!!!!!! 

A lady walks into the yarn shop caring a garbage bag full of knitting.

“What ya making?” the clerk asks.

“A blanket for my boyfriend” the lady responds, “but it is taking forever.”

“Let’s have a look” the clerk says. So the lady pulls out The Blanket. As she is pulling and pulling and pulling out The Blanket, she tells the clerk that she doesn’t have a pattern, she just bought the longest circular needle she could find and some yarn and just casted on…..   She had only knit 1 1/2 feet [.5 Meters] deep and it had taken over a month….

The Clerk gazed at the pile of knitting heaped upon the table. She removed the needle and spread out the knitting to discover 24 feet of The Blanket 

  

The knitter agreed that fringes was GREAT! They cut The Blanket into 4 equal pieces, removed 3 of the CO rows, graphed them together and she left with a 5′ x 6′  [1.5 Meters x 1.8 Meters] Blanket almost completed.
