Setting My Sail

Setting My Sail

Hello Knitters Everywhere!!

Sorry for such a long a break – But it was just what I needed and I didn’t even know I needed it.

My Husband and I moved in January to White Plains New York. It was a long slow move as we still had our house and did not have to rush out. So I didn’t.

I am not keen on change even though I like to pretend I am.  Finally me my yarn and all my books got set up in my new area. I was all set to get a job and get out of the house. To take some time and knit for me and not think about designing and I did for a while… and then….. a bunch of little things seem to ignite a spark under me… but I ignored it…  Then a few more things came up and added to the ones before.

One thing that helped fan the spark was, as I was meeting new people they always ask, “what do you do?” and I realized that I finally felt comfortable and that I liked responding “I am a knitwear designer”

Well Gosh Kate – If you are gonna say it, you have to do it. So….. I am working on a plan….

Keep checking in and watching your social networks… It is going to take some time, but for the first time in a long time I have plotted my course, loaded up my boat and set my sail. I hope you join me on this Journey.

Kate

P.S. I am still looking for Knitting Groups to attend, if you know of any, let me know.

A dream come true – Or – I make a fool of myself…

A dream come true – Or – I make a fool of myself…

HOLY COW!!! Deborah Newton the Knitwear designer, My last Big Name Designer I want to meet, my whole reason for going to Vogue Knitting Live Tomorrow- responded to my post on Facebook…. I am so gonna Fan.Out tomorrow and make a complete ass of myself-
Kinda like I did when I meet Nicky Epstein for the first time and said to her, “Do you know who you are??” She was so kind and smiled and said, “Yes I do, I am Nicky Epstein… And your Kate” (I was wearing a name tag but forgot that was, so I thought she really knew me, or was psychic…) Then she handed me a bag she had signed Just.For.ME!!!

Yeah so I am so excited and ready to make a fool of myself- so What should I wear??? Something I knit DUH… But one of my designs or just something I made, or one of my designs for sale… I have no Clue!!
